Miesha Tate trolls the internet on April Fool’s Day

A title eliminator between Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye was announced by UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in Rio just under two weeks ago. Earlier today, Jessica Eye asked Tate via social media why the former Strikeforce champion had yet to sign the contract for their fight, which according to Eye will take place in New Orleans as part of UFC Fight Night 68 on June 6th. Tate responded with the following tweet.

@jessicaevileye bc I got injured, I cant take the fight, sorry Jess I was super excited about it. Maybe a later date

Stories began surfacing around the internet about Tate’s undisclosed injury and how the fight had been canceled. Credit to the MMA media for being all over it, shame on them for not checking their calendar.
