Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Samoa Joe to become your new NXT Champion

We now live in a world where Shinsuke Nakamura is your NXT Champion. Nakamura defeated Samoa Joe in the main event of NXT TakeOver Brooklyn II to become the 9th NXT Champion since the title was first introduced back on July 26th of 2012 when Seth Rollins became the inaugural champion by defeating Jinder Mahal in the finals of a 8-man tournament.
Joe and Nakamura put on a stellar match that lasted just over 20 minutes in front of a rawkus Brooklyn crowd. The story of the night was Nakamura’s entrance thanks to @LeeEnglandJr and of course Mr. Nakamura. It was another example of goose pimple theater orchestrated by Triple H and company.
On a whole, this year’s visit to Brooklyn equaled if not surpassed last years TakeOver event. We’ll have plenty more coverage of this event including a podcast coming soon from the fine folks over @NoHoldsBarredPC who were front and center for this historic event.
