NXT 5.18.16: Bayley vs Nia Jax preview

bay-nia-2As I look forward to seeing an action packed NXT episode tonight, I wonder what will come of the Bayley vs Nia Jax match. Will this match solidify Nia Jax as a major player in the women’s division of NXT? Is this Bayley’s position as a veteran in the locker room to help push Nia and show what she’s capable of? Will Bayley be called up to the main roster after this match? Is Bayley looking to have talented women keep the legacy of the NXT Women’s division alive? Is Nia going to face Askua for the title soon?

Maybe I’m asking way too many questions for the outcome or reasoning for this match. However, it does bring me joy to see that they are booking a match for Nia that isn’t just a two minute squash match. With those type of bouts, it is quite difficult to see what Nia can bring to the table when faced with opposition.

The only time that she’s had true competition was when she faced Bayley in London. You saw the sheer power, stamina and dominant presence that Nia has. She knows how to play to the crowd as a heel and pull off moves that a girl her size usually can’t. Since that fight, I was waiting to see if that would grow into a full on feud, but it never happened, because they wanted to push a tag team consisting of Nia and Eva Marie.

Tonight might be the start of a true run for Nia and I hope that she can shine and rise to the occasion. She definitely has the talent, but you can still see the spots in her wrestling where she can improve. With experienced wrestlers like Bayley leading the match, Nia can look like a million bucks. Maybe Bayley can have a few matches with Jax and build up her confidence in the ring, before she passes the torch and let’s Nia become a powerhouse in the division. All in all, I think this will be a good matchup. I will have my popcorn and drink right next to me on the couch. Come on ladies, give me something to cheer for tonight!
