NXT Takeover Rival Highlights: Owens KO’s Zayn to become champion

Last night at NXT Takeover: Rival, Owens defeated Sami Zayn via a referee stoppage to capture one of the most coveted prizes in the world of professional wresting today after only 2 months on the roster.

Credit to Zayn, he never quit. And he can take that to his grave. Although it was a very one sided affair, Zayn did mount some effective offense; Owens was just far too much to handle for him on this night. If it wasn’t for the third man in the ring and the medical staff outside of it, yellow crime scene tape (at least it would match the NXT logo) would’ve been required.

Owens now joins Seth Rollins, Big E Langston, Bo Dallas, Adrian Neville and Zayn on the short list of wrestlers to hold the NXT Championship. See how he got it done below.
