PW Round-Up (11.21.16): Goldberg back for more, another ROH TV title change, Cody vs. Lethal

Following Goldberg’s surprising 86-second obliteration of Brock Lesnar last night at Survivor Series, it was confirmed that this will not be the last we see of him inside of the WWE ring. Late last night, we learned via ProWrestlingSheet that Goldberg had signed a deal last week to appear at next year’s Royal Rumble to help fill out the 70K plus seater known as the Alamodome in San Antonio.

It was later confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Goldberg will be back beyond the Rumble for at least a couple more dates making a WrestleMania rematch against Brock Lesnar the likely scenario.

Goldberg squashing Lesnar in such a quick fashion could have as much to do with him not being physically ready for an extended match with on such short notice. He expressed during his SportsCenter interview with Jonathan Coachman how he wanted to at least wait until the end of the year to make a decision on his return. A few well received RAW appearances, and a quick match and victory over Lesnar last night at Survivor Series more than did it’s job to establish Goldberg as a mega babyface for a company desperately in need of one.

Also of note, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Goldberg is scheduled for tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

This past Friday night, Will Ospreay took the ROH TV Title off Bobby Fish in his first match with the promotion. Just two nights later, the title changed hands again Marty Scurll (who also just recently signed with ROH) defeated Ospreay to finish off the ‘Reach for the Sky’ tour overseas. Scurll will defend the title on December 2nd at Final Battle in a four corners survival match against Ospreay, Fish and Dragon Lee.

Speaking of Final Battle, Cody Rhodes made the following announcement via social media yesterday:

Rhodes has been extremely active wrestling for various promotions and crossing multiple names off his list since being granted his request to leave WWE earlier this year.
