PW Round Up (12.3.16): The Young Bucks sign, Nakamura wins NXT title in Osaka, HoH 22 & more

The Young Bucks have signed a 2-year deal with ROH & NJPW according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The Young Bucks will be making a lot more money than they did on their last contract plus they will be given creative input moving forward. This is huge for both companies for the simple reason that the Bucks are currently tag team champions for both brands and are a integral part of the Bullet Club alongside two of the sports biggest stars in Kenny Omega and Adam Cole. They are one of the rare teams out there that can continue to benefit more outside of WWE money and fame wise than they could by signing with them.
One of the most surprising moments of last night’s Final Battle PPV out of New York came when Matt Hardy made his presence known in the ROH universe by challenging ‘The Bucks of Youth’. Meltzer revealed that The Bucks will take on The Hardy Boys for the ROH tag titles on the WrestleMania weekend in Lakeland, FL on April 1st. The Bucks will not appear on the upcoming December 15th Total Nonstop Deletion episode but that doesn’t rule them out for a Hardy Compound special in the future.
Shinsuke Nakamura became a 2-time NXT Champion last night by defeating Samoa Joe earlier this morning in Osaka. The match will air in its entirety on the Network next Wednesday night. Joe beat Nakamura for the title just over two weeks ago at NXT: TakeOver Toronto to begin his short lived second reign.
FloSlam continues to add to their already impressive list of promotions by bringing on IPW:UK. Here’s what Jeremy Botter had to say about the news:
IPW:UK, founded in 2004, is based in Rochester in the United Kingdom. The IPW:UK World Championship is currently held by ring veteran Jimmy Havoc.
We have partnered with IPW:UK to carry all of their 2017 Supershows live, and they’ll exclusively be on FloSlam. These shows are scheduled to occur every other month beginning with SuperShow VI on January 22nd, 2017.
These cards feature wrestlers familiar to fans of the world’s top independent promotions and are sure to be instant crowd pleasers.
But don’t take our word for it. You’ll be able to check it out for yourself. As part of our partnership with IPW:UK, all previous SuperShows will also be available in our library. Look for those beginning next week. You’re gonna dig them.
And there’s more. The addition of IPW:UK marks the official launch of our new FloSlam World Premiere events.
This series will feature events that are pre-recorded, but we’ll air them in streaming format just like our usual live events. If you’re a wrestling fan, taped cards are nothing new for you. We’re bringing that age-old wrestling tradition to the modern, streaming world. You’ll tune in to the stream just like you would any live event. All you have to do is avoid spoilers, right?
We hope this serves as a catalyst for fans from around the world to watch amazing wrestling together and discuss it in real time via social media.
This new concept will allow us to bring you wrestling from venues where it proves difficult to deliver you the kind of world-class live stream FloSports is known for, and it frees us up to bring you even more exciting wrestling from a wide variety of promotions around the world.
Best of all, it will allow us to fill the void during midweek off-nights, as who wants to go a day without wrestling? I mean, not me. If you can’t join us for the premieres, we’ll still post the video on demand for you to enjoy on your own schedule.
Our first IPW:UK FloSlam World Premiere will debut right before Christmas. It’s IPW:UK SuperShow 5, which features a main event of Cody Rhodes vs. Will Ospreay. These two tremendous talents have never faced off and frankly, we are confident this is going to be one hell of a match.
Oh, and the co-main event features Zack Sabre Jr. taking on Matt Riddle.
December is just the start of our IPW:UK FloSlam World Premieres. In 2017, we’ll exclusively debut five additional IPW:UK shows in the months in between their live SuperShows. And all of these events will be added to our growing library of great pro wrestling action for you to enjoy at your leisure.
Now, FloSlam subscribers will have access to 16 more world-class indie wrestling events over the next year via our partnership with IPW:UK. Combine this news with our announced partnerships with EVOLVE, SHINE, Full Impact Pro, American Combat Wrestling and House of Hardcore, and we hope you can see our dedication to providing tremendous value for all wrestling fans.
Speaking of FloSlam and House of Hardcore, Tommy Dreamer poured his heart out on social media earlier today. We want to share his post with you below and we want to give you the link to sign up with FloSlam and take in tonight’s House of Hardcore 22 event (which will be available on demand shortly after the event) so you can enjoy some of the best wrestling on the planet for an incredible price. This deal just keeps getting better and better with every promotion that these guys add. This truly will be a industry game changer.
Funny Dec 3 was my 2nd ever match
Me vs CW Anderson in ECW famous I Quit Match
WWE/ECW December to Dismember ok that one wasn’t important
Today my own company House of Hardcore Blizzard BrawlI can’t begin to tell you how important it is for me. This deal w/ Flo Slam is life changing if it hits. Potential millions on the table. The wrestling buisness changes, wrestlers that I care for lives change. I have a plan and have stuck by it turning down WWE offers, to see this thru. I have literally watched men & women get the call from WWE after my shows. It sucks but I’m also happy for them. Trust me I get it. If this thing hits I can change that,be a major player.
The expenses for this show have been alot 25 thousand dollars to upgrade costs (that’s the actual machine that enables me to broadcast this, 3 cameras 9 thousand dollars Sound camera people) Not including talent pay or hotels, and my daughters needing braces 12k
Last week I spent about $65,000 of my life saving of wrestling for this. I won’t make it back tonight but hopefully this investment pays off.
So that’s the real story behind the scenes of today. If history repeats itself then all will be well.If you can order the show, please do at the following link.
If you can’t no worries all I ask for is to share the post to whatever social media you have.
Also please don’t tell Beulah because for the 1st time I risked my family’s future and if she finds out I’m dead.
Thank you
I love you
