Randy Orton versus AJ Styles booked for SmackDown Live; Winner gets Wyatt at WrestleMania

After some heavy deliberation from Smackdown Live’s Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan, WWE Champion Bray Wyatt’s WrestleMania 33 opponent will be determined this Tuesday night when Randy Orton meets AJ Styles in – you guessed it – a wrestling match – to decide a true #1 contender.

Orton earned the right to face whomever would be WWE champion come April 2nd in Orlando the old-fashioned way – by winning the Royal Rumble match earlier this year. However, ‘The Viper’ acting as Wyatt’s servant, would turn down the opportunity to headline WrestleMania 33. That would lead to a 10-man Battle Royal to decide a new opponent for Wyatt which would end with AJ Styles and Luke Harper eliminating one another at the same time. The following week, Styles would beat Harper in a singles number #1 contenders match earning his spot to headline Mania opposite Wyatt.

Unfortunately for Styles, Orton would decide to burn down the Wyatt compound and reinsert himself into the main event picture at WrestleMania.

After weeks of delay due to the huge gap in between Elimination Chamber, the final SD Live PPV before Mania, and WresteMania 33, it appears that we will get Wyatt versus Orton and Styles versus McMahon as originally planned come April 2nd in Orlando.
