RAW Manchester: WWE Championship Tournament opening round results

Published

on

With Monday Night RAW currently filming in Manchester (it will be aired later tonight on the USA Network at the same time it always is via tape delay) we ask that you do not read on if you do not want to be spoiled in regards to results and so on and so forth. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Tonight’s show opened with Triple H announcing a tournament to crown a new WWE champion. Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins had suffered an injury to his knee that will keep him out of action for 6-9 months which will give 16-men on the current roster the chance at the vacant title. HHH would put the title on Roman Reigns and give him the unique opportunity to join The Authority in Rollins’ absence. Reigns would turn down Trip’s offer and instead take on Big Show in the opening match of the tournament which he would find him emerging victorious. According the various reports, the crowd had no interest in this particular match whatsoever.

Here are the full results from the opening round of the Survivor Series Championship Tournament that took place on RAW tonight:

Roman Reigns defeats The Big Show
Kevin Owens defeats Titus O’Neil after hitting his pop-up powerbomb
Dolph Ziggler defeats The Miz after hitting a delicious superkick
Cesaro defeats Sheamus with some help from a local superstar

Dean Ambrose defeats Tyler Breeze via small package
• Alberto Del Rio versus Stardust will take place tomorrow night during Smackdown
• Kalisto-Ryback and Neville-Barrett will take place at a later date (likely tomorrow on Smackdown) as well

Here’s the updated bracket heading into tomorrow’s Smackdown taping:
