What was Roman Reigns’ big announcement for SummerSlam?

As expected, 3-time former WWE Champion Roman Reigns opened tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW with a special announcement in regards to this year’s Summerslam PPV out of Brooklyn. Here’s what he said.

Some of yall make not like this, some of yall may love this. But when it comes down to it, I cannot be beaten one on one. It’s the truth. Ask Bray Wyatt. Ask Finn Balor. Ask my little brother Seth Rollins. Ask Braun Strowman, I put him out of commission. And let’s not forget , I main evented my 3rd WrestleMania in a row. And that’s where I retired The Undertaker. I respect him, and he respects me because I beat him. So this is the plan. After the Great Balls of Fire Pay Per View, I don’t care who wins. I don’t care if it’s Brock Lesnar and I don’t care if it’s that guy they call Joe. Because at SummerSlam, I’m the number one contender for the Universal Championship. And would you like to know why? Because this is my yard. And I make the rules around here. And that is why I…..
{Samoa Joe’s music hits}.

Joe was not very happy that Reigns appears to have forgotten his name. He also noticed that his name wasn’t on the list because he has never beaten him. Reigns retorts, “You’ll never be Samoa Joe to me, you’ll always be just Joe.” Joe responds with a headbutt to Reigns and a beatdown ensues. Reigns defends against the Coquina Clutch and manages to generate some offense of his own and send Joe packing.

So as far as Roman Reigns’ big announcement goes – it appears that he will be facing the winner of Brock Lesnar versus Samoa Joe at Summerslam. That is if a returning Braun Strowman doesn’t get a hold of him first. It has just been confirmed by RAW GM Kurt Angle that Reigns and Joe have been booked for a match on tonight’s episode of RAW out of Evansville, Indiana. Stay tuned.
