Ronda Rousey announces Tate vs. Eye title eliminator for June

Last Friday afternoon in Rio, a #1 contenders bout for the UFC women’s bantamweight championship of the world was announced by an unlikely source – the champion herself.
After asking UFC President Dana White for his permission during the first stop on the UFC 189 World Championship Tour in Brazil, UFC 190 headliner Ronda Rousey showed what kind of company woman she is by announcing the next title eliminator within her weight class.
“Well let’s take the ifs out of it, ok. Let’s say when I beat Bethe, we’re also going to have Miesha Tate versus Jessica Eye (pictured above) on the card and I think I’ll be fighting the winner of that after I beat Bethe,” Rousey told the media members and fans in attendance. “And I think that’s the first time I saw Miesha look up from liking her own pictures on Instagram, what’s up? I said your name – yeah,” Rousey said, acknowledging her lifetime rival in attendance. “So I think that’s what the plan is. I’ll beat Bethe, then I’ll beat the winner of Tate and Eye.”
Later on in the presser we would learn that Tate and Eye will not be fighting on the same card as Rousey and Correia in Brazil on August 1st. It turns out that the two will battle in June on an event to be determined. Expect the date and location to be announced shortly.
