Sara McMann versus Amanda Nunes added to ‘UFC Fight Night Nashville’

A stellar fight inside of the UFC women’s bantamweight division has just been added to UFC Fight Night 73 ‘Teixeira vs. St. Preux’. Former #1 contender Sara McMann (8-2) will take on “The Lioness” Amanda Nunes (10-4) in a pivotal bout that will see one fighter inch closer and another fall further away from a shot (another in McMann’s case) at the “World’s Most Dominant Athlete.”

The last time we saw McMann, an Olympic Silver Medalist in freestyle wrestling, she looked to be well on her way to ousting Miesha Tate from title contention after nearly KO’ing the former Strikeforce champion in the first round of their UFC 183 prelim headliner. Tate would survive McMann’s early onslaught to score a comeback majority decision victory.

Nunes will enter the octagon on August 8th with a 3-1 record during her UFC tenure. All three of her victories and her lone defeat have come by way of TKO.
