SDLive: Naomi forced to relinquish women’s title

Naomi’s dream of entering WrestleMania 33 in her hometown as Smackdown Women’s Champion is officially over.
In a emotional opening segment that kicked off tonight’s episode out of Ontario, California, Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan was forced to ask the champion to relinquish her title due to an injury that would keep her from defending it in the required 30-day period.
This would prompt the woman Naomi defeated for the title at Elimination Chamber, Alexa Bliss, to ask Bryan for her title back. Bryan wouldn’t cave to Bliss’ demands, but he would announce a match between Bliss and Becky Lynch for the now vacant title to kick-off the show.
We’ll have more on the result of that match as it wraps up here shortly.
