Seth Rollins out 6-9 months with knee injury; New champion to be crowned in Survivor Series tourney

Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship reign has officially come to an end at 221 days. Rollins injured his knee working a WWE Live non-televised event in Dublin last night against Kane in a “Street Fight” off a sunset flip gone wrong off the top rope. Here’s footage of the spot that caused the injury.
Seth would go on to continue the match and win via pinfall. In a statement released by WWE officials earlier today we learned that Rollins tore his right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus which will force him to ride the proverbial pine for the next 6-9 months. Since he won’t be able to defend his world title at Survivor Series as planned, a tournament has now been scheduled to crown the next champion at the November 22nd WWE Network event. Rollins was scheduled to defend his world title against Roman Reigns after his former Shield stablemate won a Fatal 4-Way number #1 contender’s match the Monday before last on RAW.
Rollins ends his world title reign as one of only 4 men (Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Triple H) to hold the WWE’s top prize for over 200 days since 2008.
