SmackDown Live 900: Title Change Alert

There have been 78 different Intercontinental Champions since when Pat Patterson became the first man to hold this prestigious title that he won in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. Earlier tonight in Wilkes Barre, PA, The Miz, with help from his lovely wife Maryse, became a 6-time IC champion when he defeated 5-time champ Dolph Ziggler on the 900th episode of SmackDown Live. The Miz will be forced to defend his strap against Sami Zayn this coming Sunday at Survivor Series where should he lose, the IC title will go to Monday Night RAW with Zayn.

The WWE Intercontinental Championship is a title worth following. The lineage is just as beautiful as any in the world of professional wrestling.
