The main event for the first ever UFC card in Liverpool, England is now official.
Former two-time title contender Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson will face local favorite Darren Till in a welterweight main event set for five rounds on May 27 in England.
The bout had previously been confirmed but now it’s official as the UFC brings a big main event to Liverpool for the first card to ever land there.
For Thompson, this fight serves as an opportunity to get a win over another top ranked welterweight after he picked apart Jorge Masvidal in his last fight from this past November.
Meanwhile, Till will look for the biggest win of his career when he faces Thompson after previously defeating Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone last October in his only other UFC main event.
“Wonderboy” vs. Till joins another welterweight between Neil Magny and Gunnar Nelson that will serve as the co-main event in Liverpool.
