Tony Ferguson officially removed from UFC 209

Despite efforts to find a replacement opponent for Tony Ferguson at UFC 209, ‘El Cucuy’ will not be fighting at UFC 209.
Ferguson was scheduled to take on Khabib Nurmagomedov for the third time, this time it was for UFC interim gold, and for the third time it fell through.
Nurmagomedov was pulled from the card earlier today after being rushed to a local Las Vegas hospital due to weight cutting issues. Nate Diaz and Michael Johnson were looked at as late replacement options for Ferguson but Diaz was in no shape for a lightweight bout (he’s walking around at over 180 lbs right now) and Ferguson had no interest in fighting Johnson.
