UFC 172: ‘Jones vs. Teixeira’ headed to B-More

It’s official. The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be visiting Baltimore for the very first time this Spring. Headlining the show will be the older brother of Ravens DE Arthur Jones, UFC light heavyweight champion Jonny ‘Bones’ Jones. Standing across from him will be Glover Teixeira, a successful veteran of the sport for over a decade who has recently found stardom since joining the UFC, and destroying everyone in his path.
The historic building formerly known as the Baltimore Civic Center and the 1st Mariner Arena, which has housed everyone from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to Bruno Sammartino, is simply being called the Baltimore Arena again, and it will play host to the April 26th event that brings the best mixed martial artist in the world today to town. Jones will be attempting to successfully defend his title for the 7th time. The New York native beat the longstanding record of five title defenses when he slipped past Alexander Gustafsson in Toronto last September in a close fight that many have called the best title fight in UFC history. That fight would be Jones’ 3rd fight in Toronto in as many years.
As of today the title fight between Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira is the only fight scheduled for UFC 172.
