Dillashaw-Barao rematch appears to be headed for UFC 177 in Sacramento

It looks like ‘The Baron’ will get a shot a bringing the gold back to Brazil soon after all. UFC Tonight’s Ariel Helwani was the first to report, and multiple sources have since confirmed that UFC officials are extremely close to announcing T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao 2 as the main event of UFC 177. If so, this would mark Dillashaw’s first title defense since scoring what some have called the greatest UFC title fight upset of all-time.
Odds makers had Dillashaw anywhere between a +475 and +765 dog entering his first contest with Barao back at UFC 173. Not only did Dillashaw become the first man to beat Barao in nearly a decade, he beat him up for almost four and half rounds before finishing him in spectacular fashion.
UFC 177 is scheduled to take place on August 30th inside of the Sleep Train Arena, just miles away from where Dillashaw trains with Team Alpha-Male.
