UFC 184: Weidman out again with injury; Rousey-Zingano promoted to main event

Another untimely injury has befallen UFC middleweight kingpin Chris Weidman. With less than month until his next title defense against Vitor Belfort, it’s been reported by MMAJunkie that the champ suffered a rib injury in training. It’s unknown at this time if a new opponent will be found for Vitor Belfort.
What is known is that the women’s bantamweight title bout between Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano has been promoted to the new main event. Also, women’s MMA will be getting an even bigger push on the big stage with former pro boxing champ Holly Holm’s UFC debut getting co-main event status against Raquel Pennington on pay-per-view. This marks the first time that both the main and co-main event of a UFC PPV will feature female fighters.
We’ll have more information on when Weidman will return and what this means for Belfort moving forward as it becomes available to us.
