UFC 188 ‘Velasquez vs. Werdum’ promo #1, updated fight card

The 188th major numbered event for the Ultimate Fighting Championship is now less than two weeks away and it packs quite the punch. The main event of the evening will pit heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez against interim title holder Fabricio Werdum to decide who is truly the best heavyweight mixed martial artist in the world today. Velasquez will look to shake off nearly 19 months of ring rust when he takes on an opponent in “Vai Cavalo” who has really put everything together in his second stint with the UFC.

The co-feature of the evening features two of the greatest lightweights of our time in a dream fight that fans have been clamoring for far before these two men signed with the UFC.

Former 6-time defending Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez and former 2-time Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez will both look to avoid something neither man has suffered during the illustrious mixed martial arts careers – a 2-fight losing streak.
