UFC 189 ‘Mendes vs. McGregor’ live weigh-in stream

It’s so rare that we have a main event fight of this caliber where the opponents have yet to stare down on the eve of the fight.

Sure, it’s true, 2-time title contender Chad “Money” Mendes was only brought in on just over 10 days notice to take on Conor McGregor for the interim title after reigning, defending champion Jose Aldo was sidelined due to a fractured rib. That said, there have been plenty of opportunities, including yesterday’s heated pre-fight press conference, to have the two men square up. So why haven’t they? I’ll tell you why.

Tonight’s weigh-in for UFC 189 is projected to be the biggest weigh-in in UFC history. Why waste the moment. Save it. Savior it. This event before the event actually has a special aura of its own. And, while we’re expecting only the best face off from the two men at the tippy top of the card, this is also an opportunity for other men toward the middle and the bottom to create a storyline heading into tomorrow night. Who else will we be talking about besides Conor and Chad after these 22 competitors hit the scale inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Fight City, Nevada.
