UFC 196 ‘McGregor vs. Diaz’ event poster; updated fight card

The show must go on. Instead of two major titles fights at UFC 196 on March 5th in Las Vegas we will now get one major title fight and a welterweight headliner between two of the most popular and polarizing figures in mixed martial arts today.

Below you’ll find the updated version of the UFC 196 card featuring Conor McGregor versus Nate Diaz as your new headliner. The women’s bantamweight tilt between current champ Holly Holm and former Strikeforce champ Miesha Tate will remain in the co-main event slot regardless of the new non title status of the main event. You’d have to go all the way back to UFC 51 to find the last time a UFC event featured a non title bout main eventing over a title bout. On that night back in 2005, Tito Ortiz beat Vitor Belfort via split decision after the interim heavyweight title and vacant middleweight title were on the line earlier on in the night.
