UFC 203 headed to Cleveland with ‘Miocic vs. Overeem’

On September 10th, the new ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ will make his first title defense against one of the most decorated heavyweights in the history of MMA and kickboxing.
UFC officials announced last night that UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic (15-2) will take on Alistair Overeem (41-14) in the main event of UFC 203. The fight will take place on Miocic’s home turf inside of Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena. This will be the UFC’s first visit to Cleveland.
Miocic won the title just 12 days ago in Curitiba, Brazil when he knocked out Fabricio Werdum with a beautiful short counter right hook.
Overeem earned his first UFC title shot by stringing together 4 consecutive wins over the likes of Roy Nelson, Junior dos Santos, Stefan Struve and Andrei Arlovski.
As of this posting, Miocic versus Overeem is the only fight on the UFC 203 card. Expect more fights to be added in the coming weeks.
