UFC 212 Highlight: Claudia Gadelha makes quick work of Karolina Kowalkiewicz

Former UFC title challenger Claudia Gadelha (15-2) did what current champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (14-0) could not tonight in Brazil. ‘Claudinha’ became the first woman in history to finish Karolina Kowalkiewicz (10-2) when she was able to submit her just over 3 minutes into the opening round of their co-main event bout at UFC 212. Kowalkiewicz took Joanna Champion to the distance last November at UFC 205 in NYC where should would suffer the first defeat of her career.
Gadelha was awarded one of two $50K Performance of the Night bonuses along with Brian Kelleher who upset Iuri Alcantra earlier on in the night with a quick guillotine finish.
In her post-fight interview with Brian Stann, Claudia expressed that the new version of her will be tough to beat and that she is in no hurry for a 3rd bout with Jedrzejczyk just yet.
“This is the new Claudia right here and it’s going to be f**king hard to beat me man.”
“Right now I’m concentrating on doing other things in my life. I only know this – I’m moving to Albuquerque, I’m buying a nice car and a fancy dog – that’s all I want now.”
