UFC 218: Francis Ngannou knocks Alistair Overeem’s head off his shoulders

Cameroon-French ‘Predator’ Francis Ngannou (11-1) scored one of the nastiest KO’s in the history of the UFC Heavyweight division tonight in Detroit. Unfortunately, for combat sports legend Alistair Overeem (43-16), he’d be the man on the wrong side of the hammer.

With his sixth stoppage victory in his sixth career UFC fight (he joins Rich Franklin, Anderson Silva and Jon Jones as only the fourth man to score six stoppages in his first six UFC appearances) Ngannou earned himself a title shot against current UFC Heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic. That fight is expected to take place sometime during the first quarter of 2018.
