UFC 225: Curtis Blaydes explodes Alistair Overeem’s face with elbows
They don’t call him Curtis “Razor” Blaydes just because it sounds edgy.
The hometown favorite gave the fans inside of the sold out United Center in Chicago something to cheer about when he opened up Alistair Overeem (43-17) with some razor sharp elbows to the dome. The finish came at the 2:56 marker of their featured prelim bout on FOX Sports 1.
In his post-fight Octagon interview with Joe Rogan, Blaydes (10-1) would call out the winner of the upcoming UFC 226 heavyweight title headliner between current champ Stipe Miocic and light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier.
All 6 of Overeem’s losses since joining the UFC have come by way of knockout. With this victory over the former K-1 Champion, Blaydes is now unbeaten in his last 6 UFC bouts.
