Video: Alexander Povetkin KO’s David Price with a savage left hook

Alexander Povetkin (34-1) retained his WBA Inter-Continental and WBO International Heavyweight titles tonight by knocking out David Price (22-5) in the 5th round in front of a packed house in Cardiff, Wales.
Things got interesting in the third when the much larger Price — he stands 6 ft 8 in and weighed in at 256 lbs — rocked Povetkin (6 ft 2 in, 229 lbs) in the third with a counter left hook that back him into the corner. Referee in charge Howard Foster would call deem it a knockdown for Price. This came in the same round that would see Povetkin knockdown Price with a left hook. With both men respecting one another’s power, the fourth round became more a a reset round for both fighters.

In the 5th, Povetkin ended the contest with a vicious overhand right/left hook combo that sent Price directly to the canvas, where he would lay flat on his back to spend an unconscious moment as Foster waved off the fight.
It's over!
Great performance by Povetkin!
