VIDEO: The Rock calls CM Punk in ring following RAW

Fans in attendance at last night’s edition of Monday Night RAW were given a special treat after the show went off the air.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was in town to film a major scene for the upcoming Fighting with My Family feature film for his Seven Bucks Production company. The film stars Florence Pugh (The Falling, Lady MacBeth) as Saraya ‘Paige’ Bevis and a number of other stars including Lean Headley of Game of Thrones fame as Paige’s mother, British indie wrestling legend ‘Sweet Saraya’ Bevis.

Having WWE in town to film RAW gave The Rock and company the opportunity to film the biggest moment of Paige’s wrestling career in front of a hot sellout crowd inside of Staples Center. That scene would of course be a recreation of the night after WrestleMania 30 when Paige defeated AJ Lee (played by Thea Trinidad) to become the youngest Divas Champion in WWE history. Before they got down to business though, The Rock did what does best – which would be entertaining the masses.

When deafening CM Punk chants began roaring throughout the arena after the mention of his wife AJ Lee, The Rock decided to call and even attempt to Facetime Punk right in the middle of the ring. The Rock would leave his former rival a message and eventually refrain from further attempts when given to cut off sign that likely came from backstage via a furious Vince McMahon, who was reportedly unimpressed by Johnson’s actions. Punk is still involved in a lawsuit with WWE doctor Chris Amann due to slanderous comments he made on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast months after he walked out on WWE.

So, what did Punk have to say about The Rock taking the time to call him in front of 15K fans on a Monday night? Apparently the former WWE superstar and current UFC welterweight was out walking his dog, Larry Talbot, on his birthday – but he was appreciative of the fans showing him some love.
