WATCH: Mackenzie Dern’s vicious LFA 24 submission victory
The mixed martial arts world was watching closely last night when IBJFF superstar Mackenzie Dern made her flyweight debut at LFA 24 right in her hometown of Phoenix.
Dern scored her second career finish after landing a deadly right hand admist a flurry that dropped her opponent, Mandy Polk, on her behind where instincts would immediately take over for the slick BJJ black belt. Before Polk even knew it, she was giving up her back to Dern and tapping to a rear naked choke.
With a record of 4-0 following last night’s victory, it’s not a matter of if as much as it is a matter of when she’ll sign with the UFC. An inaugural women’s flyweight title will be introduced to the promotion on December 1st when the finalists from season 26 of The Ultimate Fighter meet in Las Vegas.
