WrestleMania 33 staff predictions

Before the ‘Ultimate Thrill Ride’ kicks off promptly at 5 p.m. ET, see who Fight Booth PW O.G.’s Matt Addie and Dave Reno have leaving Orlando victorious.

Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries – Cruiserweight Championship

Matt Addie: In the match that many claim will steal the (pre) show, the victory will be rewarded to Neville. His recent character renovation has not only boosted his own status, but it drove a stake in the ground for the Cruiserweight Division. Aries is also deserving, but Neville has just been that good.

Pick: Neville

Dave Reno: Aries has been on fire since leaving the announce table to join Neville in the ring during a feud that has really helped breath new life into 205 Live. I like Aries to get his WrestleMania moment here albeit on the pre-show with the majority of WrestleMania ticket holders stuck in traffic.

Pick: Austin Aries

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale

Addie: This is beneath him, but this won’t be the last we see of Braun at WrestleMania 33. Sleeper picks: Mojo Rawley, Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe, Zack Ryder, Shaquille O’Neal.

Pick: Braun Strowman

Reno: With the late additions of Tian Bing and Killian Dain to this Battle Royale, I’m actually kind of looking forward to this. In the end though it’d be criminal not to have Strowman get the win after sending Big Show over the top rope for what may just be the final time of his career.

Pick: Braun Strowman

Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Carmella vs. Mickie James vs. Naomi – Smackdown Women’s Championship

Addie: Let’s get crazy! Before Naomi returned on Smackdown Live this week, the “all available women” tagline could have easily been meant for her. But, this is Mania, and it’s a time for craziness. Rocket Asuka straight to this belt and carry her undefeated streak onto the main roster.

Pick: Asuka

Reno: Naomi recapturing her title in her hometown would just be too much of a Cinderella story. James has been incredible since coming back and it’s time to reward her for it. I think James becomes a 7-time champion here and continues her feud with Bliss giving SD Live a strong Women’s feud with two great mic workers for that long road to Backlash.

Pick: Mickie James

Gallows & Anderson vs. Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Enzo & Cass – RAW Tag Team Championships

Addie: Enzo climbing that ladder will be a nice WrestleMania moment that pops the crowd. If they have any plans on giving them the titles, why not now?

Pick: Enzo & Cass

Reno: I got a lot more in-depth in my preview for this match but the just of it is that it’d be silly for WWE to throw away a moment like this. A title win for Enzo and Cass puts a struggling team right back over the moon like they were when they debuted at the RAW after Mania last year.

Pick: Enzo & Cass

Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin

Addie: This match is just kind of out there, but it seems to be happening as a way to put Corbin over on a big stage.

Pick: Baron Corbin

Reno: After putting on a dud of a match last year against Brock Lesnar, you’d hope that Ambrose would be anxious to work a match with someone like Corbin who really wants it. Corbin wins here in a match that should exceed the nonexistent expectations that have been set for it.

Pick: Baron Corbin

Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens – United States Championship

Addie: Owens is the safest pick as Fozzy season approaches, but I’ll be pulling for Y2J with the rest of the Friends of Jericho. Cheer him on, maaaaaaan. This match has high expectations, so it probably cannot “steal” the show, but it should be the best match of the night.

Pick: Kevin Owens

Reno: I know the logical pick here is Owens but just like last year, when the logical pick was Styles, I like Jericho to get the victory here. After all, he deserves continued revenge after that heartbreaking ‘Festival of Friendship.”

Pick: Chris Jericho

Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax – RAW Women’s Championship

Addie: Actually, the more specific pick is heel Sasha Banks, who finally screws over her pal Bayley.

Pick: Sasha Banks

Reno: I really have no idea when it comes to this match. Part of me just wants to see Nia blow up this division. As much as I like all of these girls we need some new rivalries. And we all know Nia isn’t like most girls. When’s the next draft again?

Pick: Nia Jax

John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse

Addie: First things first: The Miz and Maryse should get an Emmy for Total Bellas BS. That said, they’re not winning this match. Bonus prediction: a Daniel Bryan run-in. Super bonus prediction: a marriage proposal.

Pick: Cena & Nikki

Reno: Absolutely love everything about this feud. Cena and Nikki stand tall before John gets on bended knee (shout to Boyz II Men) and puts a ring on it.

Pick: Cena & Nikki

Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles

Addie: It has to be AJ. Shane is Shane, but AJ Styles is the best professional wrestler in the world.

Pick: AJ Styles

Reno: In my old age, I don’t get upset about the outcome of sporting events or professional wrestling anymore. I would come very close though if Shane McMahon actually beat AJ Styles at WrestleMania.

Pick: AJ Styles

Triple H vs. Seth Rollins

Addie: Triple H wins with the help of his muscle, Samoa Joe. After the bell, Finn Balor returns to chase The Game and Joe away.

Pick: Triple H

Reno: Here’s my off the wall pick of the night – Rollins gets the victory only to be beaten to a pulp by Owens, Joe and a corporate Balor to form Triple H’s new faction.

Pick: Seth Rollins

The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns

Addie: If they want to get Reigns over, he should lose after an epic battle with the Deadman. But, this is Mania, and this is Roman Reigns. Roman gets the win after three spears, holding off an interfering Braun Strowman in the process.

Pick: Roman Reigns

Reno: If this is supposed to main event the show as we’ve been told then something big has to happen, right? Or is a simple Reigns victory over Taker big enough for Vince to be satisfied with his vision? Predicting a Reigns full on heel turn is so 2015 but I just have a feeling about tonight. Reigns obliterates Taker with Jim Ross on the call. The show goes off the air in dramatic fashion.

Pick: Roman Reigns

Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton – WWE Championship

Addie: Bray Wyatt wins with help from some new version of the Wyatt Family.

Pick: Bray Wyatt

Reno: Toughest pick off the card for me. Maybe Rowan returns to wash the stench off that embarrassing showing at last year’s Mania? Does Harper get involved to re join the family? I expect shenanigans in one form or another with Wyatt leaving as champion.

Pick: Bray Wyatt

Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar – Universal Championship

Addie: Lesnar will finally get the best of Goldberg, and before WrestleMania goes off the air, The Rock will come down to the ring and set up Rock vs. Brock in the upcoming year.

Pick: Brock Lesnar

Reno: Lesnar pins Goldberg clean and everything is right in the world again.

Pick: Brock Lesnar
