WWE Battleground: Who won the right to face Naomi at SummerSlam?

A fatal-5 way elimination match between Charlotte Flair, Tamina, Natalya, Becky Lynch and Lana is now officially in the books and we have a new number contender for Naomi’s Smackdown Women’s Championship

The only former Smackdown Women’s Champion in the match, Becky Lynch, went on a arm breaking spree to kick off the elimination portion of the match. After saving Lana from being “disarmed” on multiple occasions, Tamina became the first woman to get eliminated by tapping to Becky’s finisher herself. With Tamina now out of the equation, Becky would then force Lana to tap. Natalya would then seize her opportunity by rolling up Becky and grabbing a handful of tights in the process to get the pinfall. This left Natalya and Charlotte Flair to battle it out.

A beautiful moonsault by Charlotte would be timed perfectly by Nattie who countered by shoving her knees into her opponents ribs. That would be the beginning of the end for Charlotte. Nattie would then force her to eat the bottom turnbuckle before rolling her up and gaining the pinfall. Naomi, who sat in and did guest commentary during the match, entered the ring to offer her hand to Natalya after her victory. Natalya did not accept.

Natalya Neidhart is your new #1 contender for the WWE Women’s Smackdown Championship. She’ll face Naomi at SummerSlam on August 20th in Brooklyn.
