WWE UK Championship Tournament: Triple H Q & A

Published

on

This week, WWE has been building buzz around the much anticipated UK tournament that will be airing this weekend, exclusively on the WWE network.

Following this past weeks Monday Night Raw, a preview of the tournament was aired. This special documented the history of the WWE and the many historic events that have taken place in the UK.

The first and only major WWE pay per view held outside of North America was Summerslam 1992 in the famed Wembley Stadium. That Summerslam still holds a lingering fondness in the hearts of millions of fans, as the British Bulldog received a heroes return to his home country and put on one hell of a match with his brother in law, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart.  This preview also paid tribute to some WWE UK alumni that have paved the way like William Regal and Dynamite Kid.

Fans were also treated to a quick look at the participants in the tournament and heard why this event means so much to them.

For people, like me, who wanted to get a little bit more info on the goals and expectations following the tournament, Triple H, the mastermind behind this, was nice enough to conduct a Q and A this week to feed this need.

Here are a few topics that were covered:

• How the UK tournament come about

• How the WWE network helped to make this event happen

• What will be the lasting effects of the tournament

• Who are the competitors that the fans should really look out for in the tournament

• Would Summerslam or WrestleMania ever come back to Wembley Stadium?

• What happens after the tournament

Triple H, also told stories of funny ribs that pulled on some of fan favorites during the Attitude Era.
